Opening of island devoted to COP14 soon

What is COP14? This is an abbreviation of Confernece of the Parties which meet once a year to discuss convention. This year the United Nations Climate Change Conference is in Poznan (Poland). The organizer promotes also the conference in Second Life. The island which is devoted to this event can be visited in Second Life here. On 29th of October 1PM SL time is official opening.

Main building is located in the center of island. You can read last news from conference also in English and learn about the effects of climate change and what can be done to avoid contributing to global warming. There are also shown several inventions which shows how unusual ideas can provide simple solutions. One of them is dance club which shows the solution used in Dance Watt Club (you can read about it here). You can also take a tour around island travelling in special “taxi” which is great solution for public transport in the city.

This island is an example how useful can Second Life be. Improving the knowledge about climate change and enabling people from all around the world to fallow and discuss what is going on during conference is much easier thanks to placing this island in virtual reality.
